For Todd Edwards, agriculture isn’t just a business, it’s a lifelong calling. Growing up in California’s fertile Central San Joaquin Valley surrounded by vineyards and orchards, Todd discovered his passion for horticulture at just 11 years old while reading his mother’s Organic Gardening magazines. However, it wasn’t until a life-changing conversation with his future wife in a college Spanish literature class that he realized he could turn his love for growing fruit into a career. He promptly switched his major to Horticulture with an emphasis in Pomology (fruit science), and he hasn’t looked back since.

Todd’s career spans decades of high-level agricultural management. Fluent in Spanish after serving a two-year church mission in Argentina, his language skills and expertise quickly propelled him into leadership. He went on to manage thousands of acres of table grapes, almonds, and pistachios for industry leaders like SunWorld International and South Valley Farms, and even moved his family back to Argentina to develop a massive pistachio and walnut operation. Later, as a global director for a specialty fertilizer company, Todd worked across 30 different countries with over 300 types of crops, from local favorites to tropical bananas and coffee.

In May 2016, Todd took his decades of global experience and founded Mil Agro, Inc. The name holds a beautiful double meaning in Spanish: Milagro means “Miracle”—reflecting Todd’s belief in the hand of God in his life and business—while Mil Agro translates to “One Thousand Fields.”

Today, Mil Agro specializes in manufacturing environmentally safe, sustainable, and highly effective specialty fertilizers. Having spent years supplying professional organic farmers who require strict profitability and high-quality shelf lives, Todd is proud to bridge the gap by bringing those exact same high-caliber, professional-grade organic solutions straight to the home gardener. When he isn’t innovating new sustainable products for growers worldwide, Todd can still be found right where it all started: tending to his own backyard organic garden.
